The answer is a definite YES! Everyone can learn to kitesurf! It is a sport you can learn step by step at allmost every age and you can progress fast. You don’t have to be very sporty or have a lot of strenght to do it. It is all about the knowledge of the technique! So don’t hesitate and start a new passion. You will love it!
Tarifa is an all year kitespot! We enjoy great conditions through all the months and we recommend you to come outside the main season (July & August) to enjoy Tarifa from it’s best! It is less hot than in full summertime, less busy, more space on the beaches and you have more time to enjoy with locals because they are not as busy as in summertime. Hotels are cheaper and everyone is more relaxed.
The FULL BEGINNER KITECOURSE takes 3 days and makes you learn the basics of kitesurfing and riding the first meters on the water. As every person is unique some might be in the water on the 2nd day already and others take a little bit longer. There is no hurry! It is all about having fun and learning step by step.
First of all this allmost never happens in Tarifa. Usually it’s windy every day and we have termic winds in the afternoons also. In case there isn’t enough wind to do your kitecourse you don’t have to pay of course and we recommend you other fun activities in or around Tarifa. There is plenty to do in this magic place also besides kitesurfing. You can mountainbike, climb, go for walks, check out the sanddunes, coastal walk, enjoy the great gastronomy or chill in one of the beachbars. Nearby places like Vejer de la Frontera and Cadiz are worth a visit also.
No you don’t need a lot of strengh to learn kitesurfing. It is possible to hold a kitebar with your little finger. It is all about knowing how to fly your kite and the size of the kite is always adapted to the actual wind strenght. To start kitesurfing you will learn how to fly your kite on the beach first before you go into the water. This is very important as it is the key to learn kitesurfing. So be patient you will be in the water even faster if you learn well on the first day!
All you need to bring is your happiness, bring enough water to drink and put on sunscreen to make sure you don’t get burnt in the Andalucian sun.
During your kite course you are covered with our kite school insurance. Once you are a independent kitesurfer speak to your travel insurance company about any doubs or questions.
During our kitecourse the first thing we will teach you is how to be a safe kitesurfer. Safety comes first for us and we make sure our student know by heart what to do if they get scared in the water or have any kind of trouble. Our safety boats make sure you are always in the best hands also in the water and have nothing to worry about!
We teach kids from 10 years old. Our very experienced teachers are used to teach to the young and never leave their side. They also enter the water with them for most exercices until they are prepared to be riding alone.

Sara L2023-11-13Good not great Equipment was a bit outdated (helmets, rip in wetsuit). Organisation could have been more clear (last minute changes of meeting point). Instructor was okay but sometimes a bit too pushy. Staff was friendly but also a bit indifferent. We did make improvements in our kiting but overall experience could have been better. Would try a different school next time. Also not cheap.

The trainers are very passionate and experienced and give personal advice on how to improve. from how to get your gear ready, over untangling your ropes after a crash, to which body position you need on the board. When in the water, the trainers communicate with you through walkie talkies to tell you what you did wrong and what you should do to stay on the board. Wlad, the owner, is a very kind and passionate kiter himself. His passion translates into the casual, nice vibe of the club.
