How to get to Tarifa

"The world is a book and those who don't travel read only one page."

The easiest way to get to Tarifa is by plane to the closest airports which are Malaga, Gibraltar, Sevilla and Jerez de la Frontera. The closest ones are Gibraltar and Malaga with only a 40min (Gibraltar) and 1.5 h drive (Malaga) to Tarifa and a very good highway. There are many flights all week from Europe. Most economic ones are Easyjet and Ryanair. To rent a car directly at the airport is your cheapest and best option, because the bus connections are very irregular and take a lot longer. Malaga

The number one airport to travel to Tarifa is Malaga. 1.5h-2h away it is connected with a very good highway and you have a paid option or free one to drive. Many international flights fly to Malaga and it is a frequent airport to fly to also for Easyjet and Ryanair as the most economic options.

Gibraltar

The closest airport to Tarifa but mostly used for people flying in from London UK. Only a 40 minutes drive away it is your best option flying from the UK or from stop in London. It gives you the chance to check out Gibraltar and do some shopping before your drive to Tarifa.

Sevilla

Around 2.5h drive from Tarifa it is a very beautiful Spanish Town to explore and spend a night or two before driving south to Tarifa. It is a nice drive and we recommend you to stop by in Vejer de la Frontera and have a drink or snack in “El Jardin del Califa”. More flights in summer.

Jerez

Around 1h40min north from Tarifa. A small airport to get out fast and start driving. Good car rental options. The majority of airlines fly more frequently or only during summertime to Jerez. Check out the little old town and have a glass of the famous Jerry Sweet Wine.

Good not great
Equipment was a bit outdated (helmets, rip in wetsuit). Organisation could have been more clear (last minute changes of meeting point). Instructor was okay but sometimes a bit too pushy. Staff was friendly but also a bit indifferent. We did make improvements in our kiting but overall experience could have been better. Would try a different school next time. Desspues de contactar a varias escuelas de Kite en Tarifa escogimos esta por su profesionalidad, buena vibra, buen precio y buen trato. Tomamos 3 dias de clase y fue una excelente experiencia. Vladimir y su equipo tienen muy buenos instructores (incluyendo Dario y Julian que han sido los nuestros) que están pendiente de cada detalle y que en nuestro caso lograron que pudiéramos sin ninguna experiencia previa lograr navegar con los Kite. Great first kite experience
I took 10 hours of kite classes and progressed every day. The trainers are very passionate and experienced and give personal advice on how to improve. from how to get your gear ready, over untangling your ropes after a crash, to which body position you need on the board. When in the water, the trainers communicate with you through walkie talkies to tell you what you did wrong and what you should do to stay on the board. La mejor escuela de kite.he estado en varias y esta es la mejor con diferencia. Vladimir es espectacular como instructor, te da los trucos que verdaderamente funcionan, pequeños y concisos. Tiene material muy nuevo y los horarios siempre son flexibles,dependemos de viento, y si un día no puedes te avisa cuando es el mejor día para seguir con tu práctica. Y el precio es razonables. Escuela súper recomendable, muy atentos y profesionales. Se nota que les gusta su trabajo. Mi instructora fue Coco y es la mejor instructora de Kite que he tenido, se nota que conoce el deporte y lo sabe explicar perfectamente. Son top.
